It
has already been an eventful start to the week…and it’s only Wednesday. Monday night the group decided to go to salsa
lessons at Havana. The event started at
11:00 p.m. and went until 1:00 a.m.
Needless to say we were hard pressed to find someone who wasn’t sweating
by the end of the night, but it was definitely an experience none of us will
forget anytime soon. The salsa
instructor seemed to have a perpetual “on” switch and an over-abundance of
energy, but he definitely knew his stuff.
Just saying we were able to salsa dance in Spain felt awesome, and we
for sure learned a thing or two that night about the sensual yet fast-paced
dance.

After
much Facebook snooping, Ashley brought to our attention the fact that Tuesday
was Alex’s 21st birthday! Celebrating your 21st in Europe
wasn’t something to be taken lightly. It
was decided, in spite of the fact that we had class the next day, that we were
going to take Alex out for his birthday.
We first went to an awesome tapas bar, which I had been waiting to do
since my arrival. The process was a bit
confusing at first, but once we got the hang of it, it was really a fun dinner!
I had tapas with ingredients ranging from fish to beef, potatoes to eggs, and
each one presenting unique and exciting flavors.

After dinner we headed to our usual spot, Havana, for beer pong, dancing, and just general celebration. With 65 teams signed up for beer pong, we didn’t end up leaving until 4:00 a.m. It was definitely worth it though! Everyone, including the birthday boy, had a blast! While we were dragging today, our professor definitely understood and let us watch a movie. I’ll be sleeping like a baby tonight, as the next couple days are filled with watersports and a trip to Barcelona!! I can’t wait!! But since I have to, I guess I’ll just keep calm and party on!
